Flamed or quilted white maple is used to bind the Rosewood, Ebony, or Cocobolo fingerboard. At the nut, the fingerboard radius is 8.5" and gradually flattens to 12" at the other end. This compound (or conical) radius design is the best shape for a tapered fingerboard, giving very low action all the way up the neck, with a minimum of 'fretting out' when bending notes.
Large frets are installed on JET guitars (.100" x .050"). Jumbo, Medium, and Low/Wide are optional fret sizes.
The fingerboard is bound with wood so the fret ends and tangs can never scratch your hand. View Closeup of JET Frets
